UK's Largest Independent Trust Shares New Data on Pension Comms
The People's Pension, the UK's biggest independent master trust, has launched personalised video statements for its members, delivering individual account summaries directly through members' online accounts.
Each video includes personalised audio and messaging specific to the account, covering contributions from the member and employer, tax relief received, investment performance, and the total pot value. The video statements sit alongside existing annual statements, which continue to be sent by post or digitally.
The launch addresses a longstanding problem in pensions communications: with people exposed to an estimated 10,000 advertising messages per day, pension providers have consistently struggled to cut through. Research cited by the organisation found that 91% of people have watched an explainer video to learn about a product or service, and that 44% prefer short video as their first choice when learning about a new offering.
The launch is the latest in a series of product developments from the not-for-profit organisation over the past 12 months, following a new member app, retirement planning tools, and a financial wellbeing offering. The People's Pension manages savings for approximately one in five UK workers, giving the scale of member engagement significant practical weight for retirement outcomes across the workforce.
