RBC Crochets Its Way Into a Conversation About Everyday Budgeting

Published on July 9, 2026

RBC has launched Crochet, a new campaign created by agency Battery, following a young artist whose passion for the craft transforms the world around her through imagination. As she works, everyday objects become handmade creations, a record spinning on a turntable becomes crocheted, a neighbour and his dog get new sweaters. The spot runs across social, online video, and broadcast.

The creative sits within RBC's broader Everyday Banking narrative, which is built around the idea that financial progress shows up in ordinary moments rather than only at major milestones. The tagline, "Your idea of creative budgeting happens here," extends the bank's existing "Your Idea Happens Here" platform into the specific territory of budgeting, framing it as something that enables creative pursuits and everyday life rather than constraining them.

The campaign is anchored by a tiered offer for eligible new customers: open a chequing account and receive an iPad, iPad Air, or iPad Pro or MacBook, depending on the size of deposit. The offer structure ties the storytelling directly to a product incentive designed to drive account acquisition.
