UK's FCA Takes on Claims Management Companies
UK financial regulatory body, Financial Conduct Authority, has launched "Feel Claim Confident", a new integrated campaign created by M+C Saatchi Group UK, aimed at encouraging the estimated 12.1 million holders of pre-2021 car finance agreements to check their eligibility and make a claim directly using the FCA's free online tools.
The campaign launches as claims management companies and law firms continue to flood multiple channels with no-win no-fee offers, creating confusion about where consumers should turn.
The hero film, directed by David Wilson at Biscuit, rejects the functional approach typical of financial services advertising in favour of action movie-inspired cinematic storytelling. Rather than explaining how to make a claim, it dramatises the confidence people feel once they have completed one. Ordinary people slide across the bonnets of their own cars in familiar settings, transforming a routine administrative task into a moment of achievement. A grindhouse-inspired voiceover and rock ballad soundtrack complete the tone, which is epic without taking itself too seriously.
The bonnet slide is designed as an ownable creative device that carries consistently across every touchpoint. The campaign runs across BVOD, SVOD, online video, out-of-home, print, social and radio. M+C Saatchi Executive Chair Marcus Peffers described the approach as Cultural Power, using the universally recognisable language of action films to make confidence itself the hero rather than the claims process.
