New Platform Recasts UKs Starling Bank as a Money Mentor

Starling Bank is preparing a major rebrand aimed at shifting how the UK approaches personal finance, with a new creative platform called “Good with money.” The initiative is designed to help customers see money management as an everyday action rather than a chore. More than half of UK adults are worried about their finances, a statistic Starling says underscores the need for a fresh approach.

Chief Marketing Officer Michele Rousseau says being “good with money” is less about wealth and more about having the tools and mindset to manage it effectively. The bank is rolling out features like Spending Intelligence, which allows customers to query their spending habits directly in-app.

The “Good with money” campaign will appear across Starling’s owned and above-the-line channels, developed with The Sunshine Company. A refreshed visual identity — including a new logo, colour palette, and app design created with Wolff Olins — will launch later this year.

Rousseau says the goal is to move beyond banking as a utility and instead frame it as a wellness-enhancing daily practice, taking cues from sports and lifestyle brands.
