Venmo Hall Hits Campus As College-Branded Debit Cards Go Prime Time

Published on September 25, 2025

Venmo is leaning into college sports with a new NIL partnership that puts Penn State quarterback Drew Allar at the center of a special edition Penn State Venmo Debit Mastercard. The move pushes Venmo deeper into everyday commerce, tying card spend to live fan activations and content that can extend beyond game day.

The rollout starts around Penn State’s White Out weekend, where Venmo will debut “Venmo Hall,” a pop-up hub for watch parties, merch, meet-and-greets, and surprise giveaways. The program also bakes in digital value with a free 12-month Perplexity Pro trial, a Big Ten Plus discount, and cash back offers with ESPN, Fanatics, and ASOS.

Select schools will get digital-only cards at launch, and a campus media blitz will span in-stadium, TV, social, streaming, podcasts, OOH, and audio.

The Penn State activation leads the fall calendar, with the broader college-branded card program and traveling Venmo Hall slated to run across marquee game weekends through the season.
