Santander To Pedal Into 2032 With London Bike Deal
Santander has renewed its title sponsorship of London’s cycle hire scheme with Transport for London through 2032, committing multi-million-pound investment to fleet, street infrastructure and a refreshed Santander Cycles app. Usage keeps rising and the program now blends mass-market bikes with a growing e-bike footprint, reinforcing Santander’s brand in daily city mobility.
Hires have topped 6.1 million so far in 2025, up 3 percent year on year, with more than 106 million hires since Santander took naming rights in 2015 and 2.8 million on e-bikes since their 2022 debut. TfL and Santander say the network stands at roughly 10,000 classic bikes, more than 2,000 e-bikes and over 800 docking stations across central and inner London
The updated app aims to speed rentals and improve wayfinding while supporting the expanded e-bike mix. City leaders joined Santander executives on London’s Southbank to mark the deal, underscoring the scheme’s role in accessibility, health and sustainable travel. The renewed partnership starts immediately, with phased infrastructure and app enhancements scheduled to roll out over the coming years.
