
Will McSheehy Hired as Starling Bank Director of Corporate Affairs
Will McSheehy has joined Starling Bank in London as Director of Corporate Affairs.
Starling Bank is a licensed and regulated digital bank founded by former Allied Irish Banks COO, Anne Boden, in 2014, who stepped down in 2023, to remain on the board of directors, and replaced as Interim CEO by Starling COO John Mountain.
Financial Narrative member McSheehy built his reputation with a decade-plus career at HSBC, culminating as Head of Communications for Global Commercial Banking. He was also Head of External Communications for Commercial Banking and for the UK and Europe, after starting as Head of Executive Content for Asia-Pacific, designing and implementing strategies to build the bank’s profiles and to influence change using select public and private platforms.
McSheehy came to HSBC after a decade in financial journalism, reporting for Bloomberg, CPI Media Group, Euromoney Institutional Investor and the Financial Times, where he held the posts of Gulf correspondent and commissioning editor for FT Business.
His most recent role was at global CEO advisory firm Teneo, where he advised financial and professional services, automotive, tech, telecoms, manufacturing, logistics and FMCG.
McSheehy has also worked as an independent corporate consultant, providing executive advice, copywriting reports, speeches and articles, media training, strategy development, narrative and messaging scripting, campaign design, crisis response guidance and team coaching and mentoring, according to his LinkedIn.
