BCA Films Across Every Island in Cabo Verde to Tell its Banking Story

Published on July 2, 2026

Banco Comercial do Atlântico, BCA, has launched Doors, a brand film created by Mantra and shot across every island of the Cabo Verde archipelago. The campaign uses a door as its central storytelling device, moving through landscapes, faces, and moments that together build a portrait of the country and the bank's relationship with it.

The door functions as a symbol of proximity and presence rather than a literal architectural element, a visual shorthand for a bank that has been part of Cabo Verdean life for more than three decades. The soundtrack gives the campaign an additional layer of cultural weight.

A new interpretation of Porton di Nôs Ilhas, a Cape Verdean musical classic originally composed by Renato Cardoso and made famous by Os Tubarões through the voice of Ildo Lobo, was recorded specifically for the film by Alberto Koenig. The arrangement preserves the essence of a song deeply embedded in the country's cultural identity while giving it a contemporary tone.

The campaign is a relatively rare example of a financial services brand committing fully to a country's geography and cultural heritage as the primary creative material, filming across the full spread of the archipelago rather than a single representative location.
