UKs Monzo Bank Issues Page-Turner With ‘The Book Of Money’
Snapshot: Monzo has unveiled The Book of Money, a friendly guide to budgeting, borrowing, property, and pensions that aims to make people feel more confident with their finances. The launch is an integrated effort with Penguin Random House UK, BBH, and Freuds, reflecting the bank’s customer-first positioning and BBH’s new role as creative partner.
The campaign opened with The Book Nook, a Soho pop-up that offered a fully personalized experience, including custom covers tailored to each visitor’s financial goals. Monzo’s research found that many people still see money as confusing and out of reach, which informed a strategy that invites readers to see themselves in the subject.

To deepen engagement, BBH generated 8,000 bespoke cover ideas and refined them to 800 available in-store, with playful titles like “The Book of Finally Extending the Kitchen.” The rollout continues with out-of-home placements and a national book tour later this year.
Monzo says the project embodies a belief that money should build confidence rather than anxiety, while BBH frames it as a deliberate zag from finance category conventions.
The book is on sale now in paperback, audiobook, and Kindle formats through major retailers. Monzo will donate its share of royalties to Money Ready3, a financial education charity that supports more than 50,000 people in the UK each year.
