Truist Inks First NBA Deal With Charlotte Hornets and Community

Truist has entered the NBA arena for the first time, signing a multi-year partnership with the Charlotte Hornets that blends brand visibility with local purpose.

The deal makes Truist not only a partner of the Hornets but a Foundational Partner of the new Novant Health Performance Center, a hub designed to anchor both athletic development and community renewal in Uptown Charlotte. Hornets Chief Business and Revenue Officer Mike Behan said the collaboration “sets a new standard for impact,” citing shared dedication to the city’s growth and inclusivity.

A centerpiece of the partnership is the launch of a Hornets Personalized Debit Card, along with exclusive perks for Truist debit and credit cardholders attending home games this season. The partnership also extends into digital content, with Truist serving as presenting sponsor for the team’s Draft Central, Training Camp coverage, and a new rookie-focused video series.

Truist’s Head of Digital, Client Experience and Marketing, Sherry Graziano, called the collaboration “an investment in our brand, business, and communities,” emphasizing the bank’s mission to “inspire and build better lives.” As both brands deepen roots in their shared hometown, the partnership aims to merge sport, community, and commerce in a way that resonates well beyond the court.
