Amerant Bank Signs Florida Panthers Star as Debit Card Spokesman

Amerant Bank, the largest community bank based in Florida, unveiled a brand partnership featuring Florida Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk, one of the NHL's top players, to promote Amerant's new co-branded Florida Panthers debit card.

Why it matters: In the crowded South Florida market, a bank partnering with an ice hockey team might seem odd pairing, but a pervasive online and OOH ad experience, including in front of the busy stadium, shows marketing creativity and how to generate brand visibility.

Driving the news: Television and online media buy will run during the NHL playoffs, as well as on billboards in Broward County, South Florida, and, most notably, near the Amerant Bank Arena where the Panthers play all their home games.

Be smart: Amerant recently launched a campaign called Imagine Tomorrow including the tagline, 'Kiss your old bank goodbye,' to generate visibility across new locations where it is expanding, including Tampa and Downtown Miami.
