Future Proof Festival: Socialive's David Moricca on Scaling Video for Advisors

Published on September 18, 2026

David Moricca, Founder and CEO of Socialive, spoke with Financial Narrative News at Future Proof Festival, held September 14–17 in Huntington Beach, California. Moricca discussed how enterprise demand for video has shifted toward scale, why authentic human voices matter even more in the age of AI, and how financial firms are making video easier to create across advisor teams.

Enterprises are moving from pilots to scale

Moricca said financial firms are no longer debating whether video works. Video builds trust and visibility and drives results across the funnel, from awareness to engagement to conversion. The conversation has now moved to how firms can create more of it at scale.

“I don’t think people were talking about scale as much up until this last year,” he said.

Catalyst, Socialive’s new prompt-based AI video creation engine, is designed to help close that gap. Using natural-language instructions, Catalyst can transform authentic recordings from advisors and other experts, as well as existing content such as reports and PDFs, into finished, branded video.

As a demonstration, Catalyst turned Financial Narrative’s most recent Pulse Survey into video.

Making video turnkey for advisors

Financial firms already have an incredible asset, Moricca said: the knowledge, expertise and voices of the people inside their organizations. As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, that authenticity becomes more valuable.

The challenge is making it easy for advisors to turn that expertise into video without requiring them to become video producers.

Socialive simplifies recording, while Catalyst uses AI to transform and repurpose that authentic content, adding graphics and branding, creating shorter clips, turning reports into video and combining content into finished assets.

Once advisors create their first few videos and establish a rhythm, Moricca said adoption tends to stick. He is seeing that pattern across wirehouses, private-equity-backed firms and increasingly smaller RIAs.

Building compliance into video creation

Scaling video in financial services also means scaling the brand, governance and compliance controls around it.

“Socialive is not a consumer product that you just drop an advisor in and they go start creating video and publishing it on social channels,” Moricca said.

Instead, compliance is built into the workflow from the beginning. Permissions can be role-based, scripts can be pre-approved, templates can include required branding and disclaimers, and transcripts give compliance teams visibility before content is published.

That allows firms to move more of the approval process upstream, making it easier to put video creation into the hands of more people while maintaining the controls financial institutions require.
